The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court has issued an international search and arrest warrant for a British citizen convicted of sexually abusing the minor daughter of his partner in Costa Teguise, when she was between eight and nine years old.

Michael Roland Williams was tried in July 2018 and sentenced to five years in prison by the Sixth Section of the Provincial Court, with a prohibition to approach the minor within a distance of less than 200 meters or communicate with her for a period of six years.

In addition, the defendant was ordered to compensate the minor with 20,000 euros and was imposed a supervised release penalty once he left prison, consisting of the prohibition to approach the victim or communicate with her for another six years, as well as the prohibition during that time of any activity that involves having minors under his custody or care and the obligation to participate in sexual education programs for pedophiles.

The defendant appealed the ruling, but his appeal was dismissed. Thus, on January 23, the conviction was declared final. However, when proceeding with the execution of the ruling, that is, his imprisonment, Michael Roland Williams was not located, being in an unknown location.

"The Police tell us that he left approximately two years ago"

"They have tried to arrest him, but the Police inform us that he left approximately two years ago," the minor's lawyer told her father two weeks ago.

Thus, on April 1, an order was issued by the Sixth Section of the Provincial Court decreeing the search, capture and imprisonment of Michael Ronald Williams, issuing the corresponding European arrest and surrender warrant.

The minor's father believes that Michael Roland Williams returned to his country and, therefore, states that the family has also been in contact with the British police. Now, he hopes that he will finally be arrested and imprisoned.
