The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will try next Tuesday, September 19, a man accused of a crime of sexual assault against a woman. The events would have taken place on October 31, 2020 in a house in Arrecife, during the celebration of a Halloween party in the victim's house and in which, in the company of other people, marijuana and alcohol were being consumed.
At one point in the night, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office in its indictment, the accused allegedly noticed that the woman was sleeping in a room. Once there, he would have verified that "she was lethargic and with her reaction faculties annulled" by drug use.
At that moment, "without her consent", he allegedly placed himself on top of her and penetrated her vaginally. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the alleged aggressor generated injuries to her back and chest.
As a result of these events, the victim is requesting compensation, which the Ministry has estimated at 1,000 euros for moral damages, as well as 350 euros for physical injuries. In addition, the Prosecutor's Office is asking for the accused a prison sentence of six years in prison, with disqualification from the right to passive suffrage during the term of the sentence, as well as a restraining order for seven years.
