The young man who kissed Radio Televisión Canaria journalist Raquel Guillán on the face last Saturday while she was reporting live from Lanzarote on the intense haze situation on the island has been sentenced to a fine of 2,410 euros and will not be able to approach the writer for a period of 16 months at a distance of less than 300 meters from her home, workplace or any other place frequented by her, nor will she be able to communicate with her by any means or procedure.

This is stated in the judgment of the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Arrecife after the quick trial held this Tuesday at the Palace of Justice of the capital of Lanzarote. The young man acknowledged the facts and the judge issued a judgment of conformity, which is final.

The author has been convicted of a crime of sexual abuse, for which he has been sentenced to 12 months of fine at a rate of 6 euros per day (2,160 euros in total) and the aforementioned restraining order.

Likewise, the defendant has also been tried and convicted of a minor crime of injury, which carries a 20-day fine at a rate of 6 euros per day (120 euros). The boy assaulted the journalist by pulling her hair and pushing her after she refused to hand over the wallet that had fallen while she was running away after kissing her on the face at the moment when Guillán was making the live connection. Finally, the convicted person must compensate her with 130 euros in respect of civil liability.
