The cancellation of a debt of more than 63,000 euros allows this citizen of Lanzarote to recover her economic stability and start again, free of charges. Mariela González turned to the Second Chance Law, with the advice of the specialized company Canarias Sin Deuda, when she could no longer meet the payments.
Mariela is currently unemployed, receiving a monthly benefit of 800 euros. Her path to insolvency began when she observed how easily her daughter obtained credits and bank cards. Seeing this, she decided to apply for them as well, hoping to improve her financial situation.
However, the problem grew rapidly when she realized that her salary was not enough to meet her new financial obligations. In a desperate attempt to keep up with payments, she began applying for new cards to cover previous debts, thus entering a vicious circle that she could not stop in time. This spiral became unsustainable, leading her to a crisis situation from which she could not escape on her own.
“I didn't believe in this. Could it be true?”, Mariela wondered before starting her process with Canarias Sin Deuda. But her daughter encouraged her, telling her to be calm because “everything comes in its time”. “And it does come”, she assures. Thanks to the Second Chance Law, Mariela can say that she now lives “a great happiness”.
For their part, the advisors of Canarias Sin Deuda point out that “Mariela's collaboration has been fundamental to achieve the cancellation. Her dedication and effort have been key in this process, and without her constant application in the search for documentation, we would not have achieved this satisfactory result”.
In addition, they point out that “the Second Chance Law is a legal mechanism that, as its application becomes better known, is being used by a greater number of people in our country.”
