The Tías City Council has made bank transfers to the 90 people who have been able to access the study grants called "Social emergency aid to students based in the municipality of Tías, academic year 2022-23". The total investment, with own funds, amounts to 97,300 euros, the Council reports.
"The bulk of the students who receive this aid corresponds to university students who are studying outside of Lanzarote." "This group, a total of 79, receives a base amount of 1,000 euros each," he comments.
The grants have also been awarded to seven university students who are studying on the island, who receive a base amount of 650 euros, and to two students of training cycles, with another 650 euros each, they confirm. Finally, two students enrolled in non-face-to-face education also receive help, with 450 euros each as a minimum amount.
The base amount can be increased by 200 euros for academic excellence (42 students with excellence were counted), with another 200 euros for their social situation and with 25% of the base amount if they have more than one sibling studying outside the island.
