Visits to the Centers are down, but they continue to receive more than 212,000 tourists per month

The spaces created by the multidisciplinary artist César Manrique have sold more than 1.4 million tickets in six months, with Montañas del Fuego being the most visited

Visits to the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) have fallen by 19.7% compared to June 2023. Thus, it becomes the largest annual drop so far this year.

A total of 212,369 people visited the island's Centers last June, 2.1% less than in May, which also saw a 16.1% decrease in attendance.

Between January and June, more than 1.4 million people have enjoyed the spaces created by the multidisciplinary artist César Manrique.

Last May, the CEO of the CACT, Ángel Vázquez, reported that turnover grew by 38% in the first three months of the year after the increase in ticket prices and the elimination of bonuses.

By space, Montañas del Fuego continues to lead as the most visited center on the island. Timanfaya welcomed 60,234 visitors in June alone. In second place, Jameos del Agua, with 58,315 monthly tourists; followed in third position by the Cueva de Los Verdes; with 37,589; and the Jardín de Cactus, with 29,261, in fourth position. In fifth place is the Mirador del Río, with 25,806 visitors; and in last place, the Castillo de San José, with 1,164.
