The Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL) held an administrative council on Thursday, March 31, whose fundamental objective was to present the positive balance of the 2021 accounts, as well as to establish future lines of work for the sector.
The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, was attended by the president and Tourism Councilor María Dolores Corujo, who explained that "this council has served us to present and approve a new Regulation of the Executive Committee and to present the annual accounts and a management report corresponding to 2021, highlighting the positive balance, among other issues."
"From SPEL we have worked in the last year within the established budget to achieve the desired tourist recovery in Lanzarote and, both the data for 2021, as well as the forecasts for this summer and for the following months, reflect this. We have improved the occupancy figures, reinforced by the good health data of the Island, we have detected the diversification of the origin of our visitors and we have achieved the improvement of the Island's connectivity with new routes to different destinations," said the president.
During the event, the appointment of María Dolores Corujo as president of the SPEL Board of Directors was also formalized.
