The Local Police of Teguise has received for the first time the distinction of 'Commitment to Tourist Quality', promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism. This award aims to recognize "the effort and commitment", the Teguise City Council has reported in a note.
The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, have congratulated the entire Municipal Security Corps, whom they have recognized that "is achieving its objective of achieving a more competitive positioning for our municipality and contributing to a sustainable and intelligent tourism development, aligned with Teguise's tourism strategy hand in hand with the private sector."
The distinction is valid for two years and "contributes to further improving the internal management of the tourist service, especially that of the processes related to customer satisfaction, as well as increasing the qualification of the team, through the training plan that consists of more than 27 training modules and participate in the largest tourism quality project developed in Spain, together with more than nine thousand tourism services", the council has pointed out.
In that sense, Oswaldo Betancort has extended his congratulations to the rest of the 53 certifications of recognition of the brand that have been awarded to the establishments and tourist services of Lanzarote, among which are the hotels of Costa Teguise: Beatriz Costa & Spa, Grand Teguise Playa and Meliá Salinas, as well as the beaches of El Jablillo and Bastián of Costa Teguise, "in recognition of the management of the Teguise City Council", the same body has pointed out.
In addition to "praising" the reason why the Local Police has been officially recognized for its quality service in a tourist destination, Oswaldo Betancort wanted to highlight "the transcendental role of the municipal agents who risk their lives for their fellow citizens in actions that are not publicized but deserve all the recognition."
The mayor gave as an example a case that occurred this Monday, in which, thanks to the actions of the local police of Teguise, in collaboration with that of Haría, a missing person was located, "without further harm." The council states that thanks to the search device activated in the Las Nieves area, which was launched after a family member's warning.
According to the report of the Teguise Police Headquarters, the officers realized that it was the vehicle of the person they were trying to locate and proceeded to intercept it, having to place a patrol car in front of the vehicle that was circulating so that it could not continue its march. Subsequently, the agents talked and assisted this person in the best way, as they were not in a good moment, requesting a health service to be assisted and transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, wishing them a speedy recovery.
