The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has announced that it will fine 500 euros from this Thursday to those passengers who have to be expelled from the plane for bad behavior.

According to the British newspaper The Sun, this figure will be a "minimum penalty", since its intention is that those passengers who cause these situations are taken to court to claim damages.

In a statement, the company has stated that this fine will serve "to help ensure that our passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment, without unnecessary interruptions caused by a small number of passengers."

As La Voz already published, a few months ago Ryanair took legal action against a passenger who had to be evicted from a Lanzarote-Santiago de Compostela flight on January 17 after pretending to be a diplomat and staging an altercation that delayed takeoff.

In a statement, the airline explained that the passenger occupied a seat that did not correspond to him, refused to change to his when the crew asked him to, and was "verbally aggressive", even claiming that he was a "UN diplomat" and had "immunity." This could lead to a sentence of three to twelve months in prison, in addition to a fine.
