Tourism has launched the call for subsidies aimed at financing projects of energy efficiency and circular economy in tourist establishments of the islands, for an amount of 11.2 million euros, charged to the European Next Generation funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, stressed that "this line of aid is aligned with the commitment that the sector has assumed to mitigate its carbon footprint, which has already been reduced by 16% since 2019, to move towards an increasingly sustainable model."

Individuals or legal entities that respond to the description of tourist establishments may apply for these grants, as well as other economic activities linked to the sector that favor the reduction of final energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, through energy saving, improvement of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.
The deadline for submitting applications, which must be submitted in the Electronic Headquarters of the Government of the Canary Islands, in a non-competitive concurrence regime, and will remain in force until the end of the credit, concludes on January 31, 2025.
