The Councilor for Public Works, Housing and Mobility, Pablo Rodríguez, has highlighted that in the next autumn 2025-spring 2026 season the port of Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote, will host cruises of small and medium size.

This announcement comes in a context of a boom in cruise passengers on the island. In the first five months of the year, 344,807 cruise passengers have arrived in Arrecife, 23.67% more than those who arrived in the same period of 2024, according to the data of maritime traffic in the Port of Arrecife, collected by the Data Center of Lanzarote.

In response to the deputy of the Nationalist group (CC) Oswaldo Betancort on the progress made for cruise ships to dock at the port of Playa Blanca, the councilor said in the plenary session of the regional Parliament that this is a reality with the impulse of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which is presided over by Betancort.

Pablo Rodríguez has stressed that they have managed to attract the interest of the main companies operating in the area, so that there will be cruises that will bring quality.
