Lanzarote achieved the best occupancy data in the country in its extra-hotel apartments, with 80% of its places sold during the month of October, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) published this Thursday.
In fact, Tías and Teguise are among the ten municipalities in Spain with the highest number of overnight stays during the month of October.
Tías was the third in Spain, with more than 300,000 overnight stays. The average stay in the apartments of Tías was 7 and a half days.
For its part, Teguise was the ninth in the country with 147,000 hotel nights and an average stay slightly below a week.
At the regional level, Canary Islands is the preferred destination in Spain for renting extra-hotel apartments, with more than 2 million overnight stays and an increase of 22.6% compared to October 2021.
In Spain as a whole, overnight stays in tourist apartments increased by 19.8% in October compared to the same month of the previous year. The average stay increases by 6.4%, standing at 5.2 overnight stays per traveler. In October, 34.9% of the places offered by tourist apartments are occupied, 14.9% more than in the same month of 2021.
