A delegation of 14 Dual Vocational Training students, belonging to the second year of the Training Cycle of Guide, Information and Tourist Assistance, and to the second year of the Cycle of Tourist Accommodation Management, of the Integrated Center of Vocational Training (CIFP) Zonzamas, have been accredited by Turismo Lanzarote at FITUR.

The objective is that they know firsthand how a world fair like FITUR 2023 works, which has opened its doors this week in Madrid. The students are led by two teachers from the Department of Hospitality and Tourism.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, held a meeting with the students during this inaugural day, who will learn how the tourist managers of Lanzarote execute the promotion of the destination "in a key year to consolidate the economic recovery shown last year, after the pandemic," said the president today.

Corujo states how the tourism sector continues to be a fundamental lever in the creation of wealth in the Canary Islands, so she invited the Dual Training students to learn more about the promotional lines of sustainability, environmental respect and the priorities regarding the issuing markets that Turismo Lanzarote currently manages.

The key to national tourism

After the relaxed meeting with the students of CIFP Zonzamas and the teachers Syra Jiménez -Pajarero Arias and Carlos Marcos Nieva, the president of the Cabildo recalled "the importance of our promotion in the peninsular territory, at a time when precisely national tourism is even being placed ahead of issuing markets such as the German or Irish", noted María Dolores Corujo, who at all times encouraged the group to continue their training activity and discover what are the guidelines of the tourist promotion of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in one of the most important tourism fairs on the planet.

The students will take advantage of their visit this week to the island's stand to delve into the experience provided by the Dual Training that characterizes their studies. "The collaboration between the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the CIFP Zonzamas is being especially intense during the present mandate because from the Cabildo we consider that we also have the responsibility to complete their training outside the classrooms", concluded the president.
