Historical record of hotel prices in Lanzarote, the most expensive island in August

Among the municipalities of the Canary Islands, the hotels of Yaiza also reigned last month and are approaching 200 euros per night

The hotel rate in Lanzarote reached 168.22 euros in August, 10.4% more than last year and a historical record on the island, according to data from the latest Hotel Conjuncture Survey of the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

In second place was Gran Canaria, whose hotels charged an average of 150.33 euros, 6.8% more than in August last year. In Tenerife, the average rate remained at 149 euros, only 1.1% higher than twelve months ago.

The hotels of Lanzarote accommodated 154,810 tourists last month, about two thousand more than in August 2024, but there were around 85,000 fewer overnight stays than last year when 1,150,500 nights occurred.

By tourist municipalities, the hotels of Yaiza were the most expensive in the Canary Islands also in August, with an average rate of 187.32 euros, 7% higher than last year.

In Adeje, which competes month after month with Yaiza for the primacy of the Canary Islands in prices, the rate remained at 175 euros, 2.3% higher than last year.

After San Bartolomé de Tirajana (165.9 euros), the hotels of Tías were in fourth place among the tourist municipalities of the archipelago with an average rate in August of 158 euros, 10% higher than a year ago.

Next was Teguise, whose hotels reached an average rate of 149.5 euros, almost 18% higher than a year ago.
