74% of Europeans consider the consequences of climate change in vacation destinations when choosing where to go, according to the latest report on intra-European travel from the European Travel Commission (ETC), an organization that brings together national tourism associations from the continent.

The research is based on a survey of nearly 6,000 adults residing in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

The report reveals that while 26% of respondents still do not take climate change into account when traveling, the rest already do.

The aforementioned 74% is divided among those who state that they will avoid destinations with extreme temperatures (17%); those who declare that they will seek destinations with a stable climate (15%), those who will carefully observe the forecasts weather conditions of the destinations (15%); those who will choose climate-independent activities (10%).

The percentage is completed with another 8% of respondents who are prepared to change vacation months and another 6% who say they will look for activities in places where the climate is stable. 3% chose "other climatic reasons".
