The Canarian company CICAR is present at the International Tourism Fair (ITB) in Berlin, between March 4 and 6, thus joining the effort of the public and private sector of the Canary Islands to strengthen its position in the German market.

In 2024, German tourism represented approximately two out of ten visitors in the Canary Islands. On the other hand, it is estimated that 18% of Germans are considering the Canary Islands for their next vacation, with 6% giving a high probability to choosing them as a destination.

In addition to its high spending capacity, the German tourist who chooses the Canary Islands is, for the most part, a type of traveler who seeks to relax and enjoy the sun and beaches, but is also interested in nature and local cultural events.

The Minister of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, Jéssica de León, approached the CICAR stand, accompanied by the general director of Planning, Training and Tourism Promotion, where they were received by the commercial director of the company, Ramón Valiente.

Both briefly assessed the potential of Germany as one of the largest tourist-sending countries in the world, with the Canary archipelago being among its favorite destinations.

The ITB of Berlin is one of the three most important tourism fairs in the world, making it an essential event to learn firsthand about the trends in the sector in the immediate future.

As in previous editions, CICAR will be present with its own stand, located next to the institutional and business representation of the Canary Archipelago.

CICAR is the leading company in the car rental segment of the Canary archipelago and is part of the Cabrera Medina Group. This business group, with a family structure, offers services on each of the Canary Islands and is present in all airports, ports, tourist areas and strategic points.
