This Monday, November 7, a new edition of World Travel Market has begun, an event that is held annually in the city of London and to which, as usual, CICAR, the leading company in the car rental sector in the Canary Islands, has attended. The event lasts four days and attendance is considered mandatory for the tourism sector worldwide.
As in past editions, CICAR has its own stand close to the public institutional representation and the Canary Islands private sector. All work in close coordination both to reinforce the winter season and to close agreements for the 2023 summer season.
The Minister of Tourism of the autonomous executive, Yaiza Castilla, visited the CICAR stand, where she was attended by the company's staff, headed by its commercial director, Ramón Valiente. World Travel Market presents the destinations and sectors of the tourism industry to a specialized audience of travel professionals from the United Kingdom and the world.
British tourism has a great weight in the archipelago, since the Canary Islands is the community that most depends on British tourism, to the point that one in three international tourists arriving in the Islands are of that nationality, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In Lanzarote this proportion is even higher and approaches half.
The car rental company promotes the Canary Islands Audio-guide app at World Travel Market. This is an application in several languages that users of their rental cars can download on their mobile devices when touring any island of the Archipelago, including La Graciosa.
