The Ministry of Tourism and Employment allocates 20 million euros, from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union, to promote the improvement of the private tourism sector.

In addition, among other actions, the acquisition of adjustable beds is subsidized for their implementation in hotels and facilities for the reconciliation of workers in the sector.

The aid, as detailed by the Minister of Tourism and Employment, Jéssica de León, will be aimed at projects to promote quality and the tourist image and rehabilitation processes and support actions for interventions carried out in infrastructures and equipment in the tourist destination.

Subsidies are also granted for actions aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial capacity and competitiveness, the renovation of facilities and leisure services, as well as the development of alternative tourism products to contribute to the diversification of the offer.

The beneficiaries of this call may be natural or legal persons of a private nature who are operators or owners of the following establishments: hotels, urban hotels, rural hotels, emblematic hotels, apartments, villas, rural houses and emblematic accommodations. In addition, more than 25,000 bars, cafeterias and restaurants in the Canary Islands can also apply for the subsidy, as can tourism intermediation companies.

De León has urged the economic sectors to be in contact with the Administrative Project Unit (UAP) "so as not to miss any opportunity to achieve a more sustainable and higher quality model." The deadline to submit applications will end on June 30.
