Arrecife has received on the morning of this Thursday two luxurious boutique cruises: Emerald Azzurra, a luxury superyacht with one hundred passengers, and the Scenic Eclipse, both with butler service in the suites where their travelers have paid, on average, 30,000 euros per cabin during this circuit, which includes the capital of Lanzarote as the only destination in the ports of the province of Las Palmas.

The ultra-luxury vessel Scenic Eclipse (IMO 9797371) has docked this morning for the first time in Arrecife with 228 passengers and 114 suites, on a voyage to the Mediterranean. It is owned by Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, a company of Australian origin and flagged in the Bahamas, which promotes its new vessel as “the world's first discovery yacht”. It has two helicopters of the Eurocopter EC130 type and a submersible, christened Scenic Neptune, built by U-Boat Worx, of Breda (Netherlands), which can reach depths of up to 300 meters. In the year 2023 its twin “Scenic Eclipse II” set sail.

In addition to this presence in the port of Arrecife, the 'conejera' capital has also received the call of the Emerald Azzurra, (launched in 2022) converted into an ultra-luxury superyacht 110 meters long, designed for intimate cruises with only one hundred passengers in 50 suites, standing out for its six decks and its exclusive onboard service, including a butler for each suite.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, also a member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, has highlighted that this month of April, the city will receive calls from the ultra-luxurious boutique cruise ships Le Bougainville, Le Bellot, World Voyager, Sea Coud Spirit, Douglas Mawson and the Exploris One, which are part of the list of the 43 calls scheduled for the port of Arrecife during this month of April.

This Thursday, alongside the Scenic Eclipse and Emerald Azzurra, is docked at the cruise pier the Costa Fortuna with capacity for 2.720 passengers distributed across thirteen decks.

Le Bellot will spend the night docked in Arrecife

Le Bellot, which will call and overnight in Arrecife, is expected for April 14 to 16. A luxury cruise yacht of the French company Ponant, inaugurated in 2020, and with capacity for only 184 passengers, offering an intimate and exclusive experience, standing out for its modern design, high-end services, and ability to navigate remote areas. It features the Blue Eye, a unique multisensory underwater lounge.

On April 27, the capital of Lanzarote will receive the Douglas Mawson, a new and avant-garde expedition cruise ship, launched in 2025 by Aurora Expeditions for the exploration of polar and remote regions. Named in honor of the famous Australian Antarctic explorer, it features the fuel-efficient Ulstein X-BOW® bow with wave-piercing capability, and has an approximate capacity of 130 to 154 passengers. The Exploris One, from the French company Exploris and flying the flag of the Bahamas, will dock in Arrecife on April 28 and May 1.

The Councilor for Tourism and Commerce of Arrecife, Eli Merino, highlights that "the passengers who take cruises on these ultra-luxurious ships stand out for a higher level of spending at the destination, where they make purchases in local shops and live gastronomic experiences in catering establishments of the ports they visit".
