Vacation rental registrations in Lanzarote continue to grow: 451 new registrations in one month

By municipalities, Yaiza already holds more than a third of the vacation rentals on the island, reaching 2,883 this Friday

The announcement of the new Law on Tourist Use of Homes, which aims to be more restrictive with new registrations and with the requirements of those already installed, has generated a call effect in the market and has triggered the incorporation of more homes to the vacation rental market.

So much so that in the last month 451 new vacation accommodations have been registered on the island of Lanzarote. This is reflected in the figures updated this Friday in Canarias Datos Abiertos.

Specifically, as of this Friday, there were 8,342 vacation homes registered in the General Tourist Registry of the Canary Islands, compared to 7,891 a month ago. It should be remembered that in ten months, between June 2023 and April 17 of this year, the number of vacation homes already increased by 51.8% on the island.

By municipalities, Yaiza already holds more than a third of the vacation rentals on the island, reaching 2,883. Nearly half of the homes offered in the southern municipality are in the tourist town of Playa Blanca (1,280).

The second municipality with the most vacation homes in Lanzarote is Tías, with 2,226 registered. Of these, more than a thousand, around 1,063, are located in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen.

Meanwhile, in Teguise there are 1,689 registered vacation homes, which also include those of La Graciosa (169) and Caleta de Famara (134), although most are concentrated in Costa Teguise (667).

In the municipality of Haría and San Bartolomé are below 500, with 467 in Haría and 413 in San Bartolomé. While Tinajo has 265 registered.

To conclude, according to the data collected in the registry, in Arrecife there are 898.
