The Canary Islands Young Mortgage will cover not only citizens up to 40 years old, but also families with children in their care with no age limit for the purchase of their first home.
The change is based on a new decree with a guarantee line called Mi Primera Vivienda (My First Home), a program to benefit families with children, particularly large and single-mother families.
All of them face severe difficulties in acquiring their first home due to rising prices, lack of supply, and savings limitations.
The changes come from the public consultation on the decree held last April, which identified the need to extend the age up to 40 years, instead of 35, and to families with children in their care.
In addition, the regional government has raised the maximum purchase price of a home **to 250,000 euros**, which does not include associated expenses or taxes.
