Canary Islands, the region where mortgages on homes increased the least in 2024

According to provisional data published by the INE, 20,271 mortgages were signed in the archipelago last year, 14,799 on homes

Mortgages on homes in the Canary Islands in 2024 registered a growth of 4.1%, the lowest of all Spanish communities, according to data released this Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

With that same increase, of 4.1%, the Canary Islands also registered in December 2024 the lowest annual increase in mortgages on homes constituted, surpassing only the Community of Madrid, where they decreased by 3.6%.

According to provisional data published by the INE, last year 20,271 mortgages were signed in the islands on rustic and urban properties for 2,916,503 euros. Of the total, 19,940 were on urban properties (14,799 on homes).

In the last month of last year, 1,305 mortgages were constituted in the Canary Islands on rustic and urban properties for 273,661,000 euros, the majority, 1,287, on urban properties.
