The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, through the Commerce and Hospitality Area directed by Armando Santana, has organized a commercial event in Hamburg that has allowed to connect seven wineries from the island with about thirty professionals from the German sector, with the aim of opening new commercialization and export opportunities for Lanzarote wines.
The initiative, held this Monday, allowed fourteen references of Lanzarote wines to be presented to importers, buyers, wine shop managers, and professionals from the German haute cuisine sector, through a professional tasting and a pairing menu.
The Minister of Commerce and Hospitality, Armando Santana, highlighted that “this action allows us to put our producers in direct contact with German importers and buyers, facilitating commercial relationships that can translate into new distribution and export channels for Lanzarote wines”.
Santana added that “our wines are the result of the effort of generations of winemakers and a unique way of cultivation in the world. We want our wineries to be able to access new markets and generate economic opportunities that benefit the entire wine sector of the island”.

The event was attended by La Verea, Bodegas Vulcano, La Geria, Bodegas Erupción, Jable de Tao, Bodegas La Florida, and Bodegas Altahay.
The tasting was led by David Schwarzwälder, a German journalist and gastronomic critic specializing in wine, who presented the particularities of the fourteen references and their connection with the volcanic landscape and the wine tradition of Lanzarote.
With this initiative, the Cabildo facilitates direct contact between the island's wineries and German market professionals, favoring the opening of new distribution channels and business opportunities for the Lanzarote wine sector.
