The Michelin Guide Spain 2026 awarded its stars to the best Spanish restaurants this Tuesday during a gala at the Sohrlin performing arts space in Malaga.
There it was confirmed that Lanzarote's only Michelin star, that of the Kamezí restaurant in Playa Blanca, remains in 2026.
During the gala, 25 restaurants across Spain were awarded their first Michelin star. Kamikaze and SCAPAR in Barcelona; Islares in Bilbao; Itzuli in Donostia-San Sebastián; EMi and Èter in Madrid.
Meanwhile, **Andalusia** has achieved new Michelin stars in five of its eight provinces: Faralá (Granada), Mare (Cádiz), Ochando (Los Rosales, in Seville), Palodú (Málaga), and ReComiendo (Córdoba).The work of young chefs who look to the rural environment when launching their own businesses has also been recognized, establishing a close relationship with their surroundings and betting on the circular economy: Casa Rubén (Tella, in Huesca), Pico Velasco (Carasa, in Cantabria), Regueiro (Tox, in Asturias), Vértigo (Sober, in Lugo)
With these 25 new Michelin stars, the total number of restaurants that will sport the distinction in the 2026 Guide reaches 254.
Second Michelin star
Across the country, five restaurants have earned their second Michelin star, bringing the total number of establishments with two stars to 37.
The new two-star restaurants are Mont Bar, by Francisco José Agudo, in Barcelona, who has dedicated his second star to his mother, who taught him to cook and who traveled to Malaga with his son "but since she didn't have a ticket, she was left outside," he explained.
