After five months of decreases in unemployment figures, October shows negative figures for the island, since 195 people have been added to the unemployment lists.

However, if we compare the unemployment figures with those from a year ago, the number of unemployed is lower in all municipalities except Haría, where there are currently 335 unemployed people compared to the 327 that were counted in October 2023.

However, Tías has also lost almost all the employment created in the last year, since it currently has 817 unemployed, which is only two less than the 819 it counted in the same month last year.

On the other hand, the unemployment figures in Teguise (874 unemployed this October) are 15.2% lower than a year ago when 1,031 unemployed were counted.

Next, San Bartolomé (869 unemployed), 9.6% less than there were a year ago when they totaled 961 people.

For its part, in Arrecife (3,819), there is 9.3% less unemployment than a year ago when there were 4,212 unemployed in the capital of the island.

In Tinajo (311 unemployed) and Yaiza (553) there is 8.5% and 5% less unemployment respectively than a year ago.
