The Minister of Employment and Tourism, Jéssica de León, commented this Tuesday in parliamentary committee that the tourism law is expected to include measures so that the authorizations of lodging establishments are linked to the quality of employment.
This was stated by the Minister in response to the deputy of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC) Luis Campos, who asked for his opinion on the fact that the Canary Islands is becoming the community with the lowest salary within the State.
Jéssica de León has linked the authorizations of establishments to the quality of employment, something that will be done in collaboration with the Canary Islands Institute of Occupational Safety (Icasel) to evaluate the measures.
She has also referred to the fact that the Ministry of Economy is fighting against the underground economy, and has also improved in diversification of the economy and measures are being studied in the Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF) to encourage it.
