The Labor Inspectorate, alluding to article 8 of the Organic Law of Trade Union Freedom, has sanctioned the THB Flora Hotel with a serious offense for the violation of the fundamental rights of workers by not recognizing and hindering the Canary Islands Workers' Union Front.

The Labor Inspectorate detailed in the report the right of workers to establish union sections in companies. The breach of the law that expands constitutional rights led the labor authority to classify the behavior of the THB Flora Hotel as a serious offense.

"Unfortunately, this anti-union and unconstitutional drift had the connivance of the union majority in the company committee composed of the UGT," they state. Both actors reiterated in writing "the refusal to recognize the FSOC union section, even removing the posters and information of this union section from the bulletin board."

Unionists from the Canary Islands - currently the Canary Islands Workers' Union Front FSOC - filed a complaint with the labor and judicial authority for the violation of fundamental rights.

"The FSOC will not tolerate any company, whether public or private, that tramples on the right of workers to freedom of association, free affiliation and the establishment of union sections in companies," they declare.
