Lanzarote increased by 82 people the number of contributors to Social Security in June, reaching a total of 70,646 affiliates to the Public Institute, according to data published by the Lanzarote Data Center with figures from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).
The island accumulates six consecutive months of increases and continues at historical highs. The prominence of Arrecife, and to a lesser extent that of Yaiza, in the increase in affiliations has been notorious in the last two months and is compensating for the fall in other municipalities of the island.
In June, Arrecife added 194 contributors and has exceeded 29,000 affiliations. In Yaiza there were 38 more, which is very close to reaching 8,000 contributors. On the other hand, in the rest of the municipalities, affiliates to Social Security were lost.
In Teguise, the number of contributors decreased last month by 87 people, so the total for the municipality remains at 10,426 people. For its part, San Bartolomé lost 28 affiliates in June, bringing its total to 8,876 contributors.
The number of affiliates to the Public Institute also decreased in Tías, in this case there are 12 fewer people. The total for the municipality is 8,977 contributors.
In the case of Haría and Tinajo, 12 contributors were also lost in each of them. The total for Haría thus remains at 2,229 affiliates, while in Tinajo there are currently 3,139.
