Ground handling personnel at airports, or handling, are among the most sought-after professionals in the Canary Islands, according to a study by Adecco that details the profiles most sought after by companies and by autonomous communities.

The report indicates that, despite the unemployment rate of 13.3%, 52.9% of human resources directors have "problems" when it comes to recruiting talent for their company, a percentage that, however, represents a decrease of 28 percentage points compared to the previous year.

In some areas, the company notes, "the difficulty in matching labor supply and demand is still evident" and there are "several sectors where recruiting candidates is especially difficult, which makes these profiles ideal professionals for companies."

In detail, among those professions with a high demand in most regions are healthcare profiles, telecommunications professionals, maintenance technicians, hospitality staff, operators (industrial, agricultural), and food handlers.

Job opportunities according to the different autonomous regions

The report adds that there are autonomous regions with their own characteristics in demand and hiring that differentiate them from the rest.

In Madrid, occupational risk prevention technicians stand out, and in Cantabria, administrative staff with languages. In Galicia, one of the most sought-after profiles is that of a stevedore, while in Aragon there is a high demand for both industrial and agricultural operators, and in Andalusia, IT or healthcare profiles are in demand.

In Catalonia, the demand for technological profiles or maintenance technicians stands out. In the Balearic Islands, customer experience specialists or administrative staff with languages are in demand.

In La Rioja, drivers are among the most requested, in Asturias, teleoperators, and in Castilla y León, quality technicians.

In addition to this, in Murcia, the Basque Country, Navarra, and the Valencian Community, engineers are in demand, while the profile of a welder is highly required in Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura, and the Basque Country.
