Vueling will connect Lanzarote and the European continent this winter with more than 200,000 seats and 6 operational routes for the 2026 winter season. The island directly benefits from the airline's commitment to the archipelago, where the 10% increase in seat capacity on the connection between Lanzarote and Barcelona is particularly noteworthy.
In addition to reinforcing key links with the Peninsula such as Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela, as well as the international route to Paris-Orly.
This extensive island operation is part of Vueling's global programming for the Canary Islands, where it will offer 2.1 million seats and 32 routes, representing a 3% growth compared to the previous winter.
The connections between the archipelago and the peninsula concentrate the greatest reinforcement with an additional 66,000 seats, reaching 2 million, while the corridor to Barcelona will add nearly 800,000 seats (+8%), with notable increases in Lanzarote (+10%), Tenerife North (+10%), and Gran Canaria (+5%). Likewise, international routes to Paris-Orly from the four main islands will offer nearly 90,000 seats.
In the rest of the archipelago, Tenerife North leads capacity with nearly 940,000 seats to 9 destinations (+7%), reinforcing links with Barcelona, Bilbao, Asturias, Santiago, Seville, and Valencia. Gran Canaria will offer nearly 800,000 seats to 9 destinations (+6%), boosting routes to Barcelona, Malaga, Santiago, Valencia, and Granada. For its part, Fuerteventura will have more than 140,000 seats on 6 routes (Malaga, Barcelona, Bilbao, Santiago, Seville, and Paris-Orly), and La Palma will have more than 13,000 seats on its direct connection to Barcelona.
Globally, the company belonging to the IAG group has scheduled 15 million seats across its entire network for winter 2026 — 14.5 million of them originating from or destined for Spain — aligned with its strategic plan Rumbo 2035. The airline is growing by 4% in the domestic market with 7.2 million seats, reinforcing its routes to France and Italy, and consolidating its Barcelona hub with 10 million seats and 90 destinations.
