The general secretary of UGT in Lanzarote, César Reyes, has denounced that "a large part" of the Hotel Fariones staff "has not yet received their December salaries." "To that is added the uncertainty that they have just entered ERTE," he said on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero.

In this regard, Reyes has conveyed his support to the workers of this hotel, owned by Juan Francisco Rosa, and has criticized the "serious irresponsibility" and the "lack of foresight" of the company's management. "You cannot have workers in this situation, so complex, without receiving salaries," he pointed out.

"The uncertainty generated about the staff is enormous. First, those who have not received their December salary, well, imagine the situation they may be in, with many of their relatives in ERTE and having to face day-to-day payments," he added.

In addition, according to the general secretary of UGT, the workers of the Hotel Fariones have also now entered an ERTE, without knowing when they are going to collect it. "If they are going to be able to collect now in these first days of February or they are going to be delayed until the month of March. It is a tremendously complicated situation, because family economies are already resentful of all these months," said César Reyes, who stated that his union will try to mediate.

"We, throughout these days, will take as many actions as possible before the General Directorate of Labor, to see if the perception of the amounts to which the workers are entitled for entering the ERTE can be expedited," said the general secretary of UGT in Lanzarote.
