The Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL) estimates that the entity's business volume will exceed ten million euros in revenue this year. This was announced by the Cabildo de Lanzarote in a statement with just over two months left until the end of the year.

"This is a historical record in the SPEL's revenue chapter since its creation in 2007. These amounts allow us to continue improving the promotion of Lanzarote, expand actions in other tourist markets with higher quality standards, and develop projects in the destination," says SPEL President Oswaldo Betancort.

"It is a pride and a privilege as a native of Lanzarote to have the opportunity to lead the Tourism Council of Lanzarote at such a crucial moment for the island, and it is comforting to see how the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society is a professionalized entity, with a team that continues to work hard in an evolutionary process that incorporates the island's tourism companies, and that are part of the success of an entity that directs and manages the tourism promotion of Lanzarote," said Tourism Councilor Betancort, also acknowledging the merit of the Government group that led the area until June 2023.

Precisely, last Tuesday, the General Assembly of SPEL met to approve the dismissals and appointments of the outgoing members and their new members, following the results of the regional and local elections, and, subsequently, the Board of Directors did so, ratifying the appointment of the president, vice president, and CEO.

Likewise, the Board of Directors also approved the 2024 budget of the commercial entity, an amount that is currently not very significant, given that it does not yet include the incorporation of the 2023 surplus, but which will exceed 10 million euros according to forecasts by the CEO of SPEL Turismo-Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández.
