The Canary Islands come together under the same brand to the leading technological innovation event Transfiere Málaga. Eleven institutions, under the leadership of the Government of the Canary Islands, attend with twenty companies from the sector in a unique staging, in four areas and two work areas.
The Minister of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, will open the fair on March 12 at the Congress and Fair Palace of Málaga, together with the general director of the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), José Moisés Martín Carretero.
At 12:30 p.m. the inauguration of the stand will take place in the Canary Islands space by all the attending authorities and at 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. that same day, two Canary Islands panels will take place in different rooms. In addition, 15 Canary Islands companies will make a pitch to present their projects.
The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Strategic Projects and the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI) promotes participation in this new edition, together with Proexca, who promotes and coordinates the participation of all entities and companies.
The Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC), the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC), the Consortium of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and the Canary Islands Science Park Foundation of the ULPGC (FCPCT), the Economic Promotion Society of Gran Canaria (SPEGC), Best in Gran Canaria, the University of La Laguna and its Foundation, Why Tenerife and the Science and Technology Park of Tenerife (PCTT), participate in this new edition.
In addition, the Canary Islands Technological Excellence Cluster (CET) will be an active collaborator in this participation in Transfiere and other clusters and associations such as the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster, the Chip Cluster, the Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, Sodecan, EMERGE, AJE Las Palmas and the Labor Foundation of Construction will also attend.
The general director of Organic Coordination and Strategic Projects of the Government of the Canary Islands, David Pérez-Dionis Chinea, has pointed out that innovation is one of the strategic areas identified by the Government of the Canary Islands and within this framework we have promoted this important participation of our entire R&D sector to show that the Canary Islands is making an important commitment to this sector, linked to our entire innovative environment and the tax incentives that are also attracting business projects to the Canary Islands.
For his part, the director of ACIISI, Javier Franco Hormiga, stressed the opportunity that the participation of the Canary Islands in Transfiere Málaga represents to strengthen the international projection of the archipelago in strategic areas.
"The Canary Islands has the potential to consolidate itself as a reference hub in microelectronics, astronomy, blue biotechnology or medicine, among others, thanks to its scientific-technological ecosystem and a unique natural environment," he said.
"The growing involvement of the business sector in R&D, the development of technological infrastructures and tax incentives such as the REF allow us to attract talent and investment of high added value. Forums such as Transfiere provide us with the opportunity to generate new alliances and synergies with other national and international actors, promoting innovation and the diversification of our economy," he said.
The CEO of Proexca, Pablo Martín Carbajal, has highlighted the importance of tax incentives for R&D presented by the Canary Islands for attracting companies, in addition to countless advantages such as connectivity, quality of life, physical and legal security, the brilliant ecosystem, talent, innovation and training centers...
