The highest pensions on the island are in Haría, where they average 1,163 euros in 14 payments, 13% more than the average income of the northern municipality, which is 1,032 euros per inhabitant.
However, it is Arrecife, where pensioners receive an average of 1,143 euros, where the difference with the average income (832 euros) is greatest, 37% more.
Next, Teguise, where the average pension reaches 1,140 euros, although in this case it is only 6% more than the average income per inhabitant, which reaches 953 euros.
Pensioners in Haría, Arrecife and Teguise exceed the average pension in the Canary Islands, which is 1,135 euros.
The Spanish average is 1,259 euros, according to data provided by the Ministry of Social Security, which includes retirement pensions (64%), widowhood (23%), permanent disability (9%) and orphanhood (3%). The data does not include welfare and non-contributory pensions.
The fourth municipality on the island with the highest pensions is San Bartolomé, where an average of 1,136 euros is received, 12% more than the 1,018 euros that mark the average income of the municipality.
Next, Yaiza, where a pensioner receives an average of 1,105 euros, 33% more than the 832 euros of average income.
In Tías, the average pension is 1,088 euros, 21% above the average income, which is 899 euros.
The lowest pensions on the island are in Tinajo, where an average of 1,019 euros is received, 7% more than the average income of the municipality, which amounts to 953 euros.
The municipality with the highest pensions in the Canary Islands is Santa Brígida, where they reach an average of 1,414 euros.
