The Haría City Council incorporates a local development agent to carry out the program ‘Project for the Promotion of Economic Activity Development’ (PRODAE), subsidized by the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) within the collaboration agreement signed between this public body and the Canarian Federation of Municipalities.

The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Employment, Chaxiraxi Niz, explains that “the main objective of this program is to boost commerce and the local development of our municipality, which, for the first time in history, will have a local development agent who will advise and guide the self-employed, small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurs that we have in Haría”.

"This is a key service so that new freelancers can learn, first-hand, about the different lines of financing, subsidies or aid that are available to them when starting a company," they point out from the City Council.

Consistory sources reported that the local development agent will also offer advice to the unemployed in the municipality when looking for a job, updating their resume, renewing their job application or being part of the different job banks in both local administrations and companies.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlights that “this service is completely free for the residents of the municipality and is essential so that entrepreneurs, freelancers and SMEs feel accompanied and receive all the appropriate advice to establish a new company or to carry out any type of procedures”.

The new Local Development Agent, hired for one year, will attend in person from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 14:00, in the office of the Department of Social Welfare.
