Last week, the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and La Graciosa actively participated in the General Assembly of INSULEUR, the network of island chambers of commerce of the European Union. This event brought together representatives from European institutions, academics, and experts in sustainable development, who addressed crucial issues for the islands, such as climate change adaptation policies, economic challenges, and strengthening cooperation between island regions.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Fuerteventura highlighted during his speech: "It is essential for the Chamber of Fuerteventura to be able to bring the needs and problems of our companies to European institutions. This type of meeting represents a unique opportunity to ensure that the voices of our business communities are heard and considered in the design of policies that promote our sustainable development."
For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa adds that: "Our participation in this type of European forum is key to making visible the specific needs of territories such as Lanzarote and La Graciosa. From the Chamber of Commerce, we are going to request to be part of the Transport Commission, with the aim of analyzing possible subsidies and improvements that can be applied in our islands. In addition, this trip has served to continue promoting the project of installing fiber optics in La Graciosa, a fundamental step for its development. Negotiation processes will soon be opened with the European Union to continue advancing in this line."
