The Minister of Industry of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, has participated in one of the latest activities organized by the working group of Canarias Islas de Moda, an initiative led by Proexca, to promote the promotion of the textile industry of the islands.
Specifically, the minister visited the Tetex Canarias-Guayarmina Textil Workshop, in Tenerife, together with the Deputy Minister of the Presidency and president of Proexca, Alfonso Cabello, the technician of the Industry Area, Juan Andrés Betancort, as well as representatives of the other three island councils that have fashion brands.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez explains that this type of visits are part of the development and promotion of the textile industry of the archipelago. “It is essential that we support each other between islands and know the work that is being carried out in each of the workshops that are part of the Canarias Islas de Moda network to nurture and share synergies that allow us to progress in the sector”, he says.
The minister adds that Lanzarote has demonstrated in different fairs and spaces that it has an exceptional talent and creativity. “We will continue to bet on the island's designers and support the fashion industry, even more so when the Canarias Islas de Moda brand is carried as a flag”, he points out.
During the visit, the representatives of Lanzarote had the opportunity to see up close all the phases of the production process, from storage and design to quality control.
