The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Historical Heritage Area, allocates 400,000 euros to subsidize heritage restoration in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

The Corporation has just opened the call for subsidies aimed at people and entities that own properties that meet certain criteria, such as being declared Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC), being included in municipal or island architectural catalogs, or possessing a recognized heritage interest

Each applicant may obtain from the Cabildo a public subsidy of 50% of the cost of their project, up to a maximum of 10,000 euros.

The bases that govern this call and are in force are included in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas, number 120, dated October 6, 2017.

The Councilor of the Area, Ascensión Toledo, details that these subsidies reflect the commitment of the Island Corporation to the preservation and restoration of the historical heritage of Lanzarote. "With this aid, we facilitate citizens' ability to preserve historical buildings, thus contributing to the maintenance of our cultural identity and promoting urban development that respects our past," she says.

Four lines of subsidy

The subsidy focuses on four main lines of intervention. The first of these is aimed at restoring the facades of buildings, as well as the carpentry of their openings. The second will focus on roofs in buildings declared BIC or in the process of being declared.

The third line of action includes consolidation interventions in buildings, and, finally, work will be done on the rehabilitation of listed architectural buildings, included in municipal or island catalogs.

Applications can be submitted from this Thursday, September 5, until October 5, 2024, being available in the "Subsidies" section of the official website of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and can be submitted in the General Registry of the Institution or through its electronic headquarters.
