The Líneas Romero Foundation, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has announced the call for the II Edition of the Sustainable Talent Awards. After the success of the first edition, this initiative seeks again to recognize and support individuals, companies and organizations that contribute to sustainable development through innovative and socially responsible ideas.
The presentation ceremony, held this morning, was attended by José Valle, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, and Federico Romero, president of the Líneas Romero Foundation. In addition, Bernardino Jiménez, general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, and Vanesa Fontes, director of the Foundation, addressed the most technical aspects of the call.
As they explained, the winning project of this edition will receive a financial prize of 5,500 euros and a diploma. Proposals that promote a positive environmental impact and are socially and economically viable will be valued. Specifically, it is intended to promote innovation and socially responsible entrepreneurship, generate sustainable products and services and promote compliance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During the presentation, the video of Isidro Pérez, winner of the first edition with “La Tunera. A resource with a future”. In it, the winner highlighted the notoriety obtained thanks to the award, in addition to thanking the opportunity and encouraging participation. “I trust that other people can see themselves reflected and see that with work and dedication they will eventually have their reward”, says Isidro.
José Valle, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, reiterated the importance of this platform: “It is an honor for the Chamber to host the Sustainable Talent Awards for the second consecutive year, an initiative that reflects our shared commitment to entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation. These awards are a platform to highlight those who dedicate their talent to developing viable solutions that promote a balance between economic growth, social well-being and responsible management of our natural resources."
For his part, Federico Romero, president of the Líneas Romero Foundation, emphasized the “Foundation's commitment to promoting talent, innovation and socially responsible entrepreneurship, accompanying people who are the future of our community”. “This line of work -Innovation and Human Capital-, together with Health and Healthy Leisure and Environmental Sustainability, complete our lines of action. A program of actions with which, from Líneas Romero, we want to give back to society part of what it has given us for so many years”, he added.
How and when to apply
Interested entrepreneurs and companies may submit their projects in digital format through the Sustainable Talent Awards website www.premiostalentosostenible.com.
The deadline for submitting applications will remain open for three months, starting this Friday, October 11, 2024.
The confidentiality of the applications will be guaranteed throughout the process. A jury, made up of members of both organizing entities, will be responsible for evaluating the projects according to pre-established criteria, and representations from public or private organizations with recognized experience in the field may be invited.
