Request to extract up to 130,000 cubic meters of jable in Teguise

The regional government has just published the Environmental Impact Study, so the period for allegations is open.

The regional government has just published the Environmental Impact Study of the Jable exploitation project in the quarry called “Arenero Dorado”, located in the Las Melianas area, in the municipality of Teguise.

The company Transportes y Excavaciones SCCATMECA, based in Arrecife, requested the regional government to extract up to 132,650.67 m3, contemplating an annual production of 10,000 m³ for 13 years.

Thus begins the process of public information so that allegations or observations can be presented, for a period of thirty days from the publication in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands.

The plot, whose cadastral number is 1036, has an area of 72,542 m2 and is classified, according to the General Planning Plan of Teguise, as Rustic Land for Economic Mining Protection (SRPM).

The quarry is located between the rural centers of Soo to the north, Muñique to the west and Tiagua to the southwest.
