The expansion of the Open Mall Lanzarote, promoted by the Open Mall Shopping Center Community of Goods, contemplates the construction of four new floors in the space attached to the shopping center and a new pedestrian and vehicle entrance from Pérez Galdós street. This expansion has an area for commercial premises of 16,605.1 square meters and 6,857.38 more for terraces.
The basic expansion project of this shopping center, which is in the public exhibition phase, plans the expansion of a new parking area in the basement, with a new entrance and exit for vehicles from Pérez Galdós street, next to Mercadona. In total, this will mean 426 more parking spaces, up to 1,385.
In addition, the two commercial floors that the shopping center already has and the terrace will be expanded, following the structure of what has already been built. To access the expansion on foot, the project promoter plans a staircase that connects the street with the ground floor, without having to enter through the basement.
The expansion of the ground floor of the shopping center includes new fashion, home and service stores. Meanwhile, the upper floor will be used for commercial premises and restaurants. In this space, "an island of central premises" will be created, where a new area for restaurants and terraces is proposed.
Likewise, the terrace "has a small built volume" for commercial and restaurant use, while the roofs will be used for different activities such as terraces, food trucks, outdoor cinemas, mini golf, wind tunnel and karts.
According to this project, it is planned that 25 commercial premises, three terraces and a kiosk will be installed on the ground floor. In addition to another 27 premises on the second floor and five terraces in the same area. Meanwhile, on the terrace floor, the highest in the establishment, the creation of six terraces, a commercial premises, and two spaces for activities is contemplated.
