The public temporary workers of the Canary Islands Government in Lanzarote have supported the concentrations that have taken place on February 15 in more than 50 Spanish cities, promoted by the Independent Movement #MI15, thus commemorating the massive demonstration that was held in Madrid exactly one year ago.

These concentrations, which join those initiated on January 14 and January 31 throughout Spain and with "great success," are part of a continuous and periodic mobilization until "the administration's abuse of temporary workers" is resolved.

"The objective is none other than to prevent them from taking our positions and firing us until the offender is punished and we are compensated for the abuse to which we are being subjected," they state in a statement.

"That is why we ask for the postponement of these processes and demand the initiation of an inspection procedure to determine which employees are being abused. Subsequently, and in the absence of a sanction, we ask that through an administrative regularization we be made permanent in our employment as mandated by Europe and as is done in the private sector." Otherwise, they add, "irreparable damage would be caused that we will end up paying not only the temporary workers in abusive situations who are fired, but all citizens."
