The latest Business Confidence Index (ICE) of Lanzarote, formed from the opinions of business owners on the evolution of their businesses in the first quarter of the year and their expectations for the second, rises 3.4 points and becomes the highest in the Canary Islands.
The index of entrepreneurs in Lanzarote stands at 82.9 points. Next are the businesses of Fuerteventura with 76.3, and Tenerife South with 75.5. The lowest values of this index were reached in El Hierro (59.5) and Tenerife Metropolitan Area (61.3).
A 28.2% of Lanzarote's entrepreneurs responded that they expect to improve their situation in the second quarter, while 14.5% responded that they expect it to worsen. 57.3% of respondents thought they would remain in the same situation.
Entrepreneurs expect a price increase
Regarding the expectations of Lanzarote's business community regarding the evolution of employment for the next quarter, 7.3% responded that it will improve while 14.5% responded negatively.
Regarding expectations of price evolution, Lanzarote's business community has responded in 24.2% that they expect the price level to rise, and 9.7% expect it to fall.
