Christmas and Epiphany are two important dates when many Spaniards take the opportunity to give gifts to their family and friends.
According to a survey conducted by the gift website aladinia.com among its users, each Spaniard will spend an average of 227 euros on gifts during the Christmas holidays.
The average will be a purchase of six gifts, although 34% of those surveyed plan to give less than three and 16% plan to give ten or more.
The most expensive gifts are for the partner and children, followed by parents, grandchildren, siblings, cousins and friends.
According to the study, those related to leisure and experiences will be the star gifts, ahead of clothing, accessories and footwear.

Sales grow on the internet, although most prefer to combine digital and physical purchases
Regarding spending, although the average is 227 euros, 13% plan to spend more than 400 euros, while two out of ten Spaniards will not exceed 100.
33% of those surveyed have set a budget higher than they had in 2023, while for 43% it will remain the same. Despite this, six out of ten fear that they will end up spending more.
Regarding the time of purchases, 80% make them several weeks in advance, probably taking advantage of Black Friday offers. Only 8% buy gifts in the last days.
Regarding the place where to make the acquisitions, 32% affirm that they will make their purchases only on the internet, 5% more than last year. The majority, 61%, will buy both in physical stores and digitally, and only 7% will make their purchases exclusively in person.
Giving leisure and original experiences is the preferred option for 39% of those surveyed, although the largest outlay will be on clothing, footwear and accessories.
