HiperDino, through the DinoSol Foundation, has exceeded 2,000 tons of food donated through its Alimentos
conVida program.
The project began in June 2020, with the aim of fighting food waste and contributing to society.
The director of the DinoSol Foundation, Patricia Muñoz, emphasizes: “We are very satisfied with the achievements of Alimentos conVida. Reaching 2,000 tons of donated products clearly reflects the commitment and hard work of everyone who participates in this initiative, and our determination to promote social inclusion."
"It is essential for us to continue working on these initiatives that directly support social well-being and promote a fairer and more sustainable future for all,” she adds.
Since its launch, the project has worked to "minimize the environmental impact of food waste, while providing crucial support to people in need on the islands," explain from the Canarian company. The value of the food donated to date reaches 5 million euros.
Every day, fresh and quality products are delivered to 35 social entities in the archipelago, ensuring that 12,749 people in vulnerable situations have access to basic daily food.
This daily effort is possible thanks to the teams of the 164 HiperDino and SuperDino stores and three logistics centers that participate in the project, as well as the delivery drivers and the DinoSol Foundation's own team. Together they work to give a second life to food that would otherwise be discarded.
HiperDino and its DinoSol Foundation explain that they will continue "giving continuity to this program and trust to continue increasing the number of beneficiary entities, reinforcing its position as leaders in Corporate Social Responsibility in the region."
