The Ministry of Ecological Transition of the Canary Islands has announced that the IDAE (Institute for Diversification and Saving of Energy) has extended the application period of the Moves III program for the purchase of electric vehicles and chargers until June 30, 2025.

The Minister of the branch, Mariano H. Zapata, has stated that this is a new opportunity for society to join electric mobility, given that the deadline for applications for this same program had already been extended until December 31, 2024 due to the high volume of applications.

Zapata explained that they have already granted "more than 66% of the Moves III program files, thanks to a significant effort by the Ministry team and the work done together with the Technological Institute of the Canary Islands (ITC) and the Energy Offices. Data that translates into the definitive granting of 45.9 million euros to promote electric mobility."

The Moves III program has two lines of financing, "one for the purchase of vehicles, with a maximum amount for individuals of 9,000 euros, and another for the installation of charging points, with a maximum aid for individuals of 5,000 euros," Zapata explained.

In addition, the Minister took the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the Canary Islands Executive to sustainable mobility, recalling the reduction of bureaucracy implemented in the modification of the Climate Change and Energy Transition law for the installation of chargers through a responsible declaration.

He also emphasized the progress of the Next Generation funds, to which "we have given a significant boost to accelerate their execution and the processing of aid," as they are "fundamental for the Canary Islands to move towards a more sustainable reality."

In this way, Zapata also recalled the role of the newly opened Energy Offices of the Canary Islands, which offer specific advice on subsidies to citizens and administrations, encouraging the population to make use of them to join the energy transition of the archipelago.
