The Cabildo's initiative to boost local commerce 'Consume Lanzarote' promoted in collaboration with the Interinsular Federation of SMEs (Felapyme) returns after the success of the past year.

The Minister of Commerce of the Cabildo, Carmen Guadalupe, presented the campaign in an act held together with the general secretary of Felapyme, Daniel González. “Last year we verified the success of the campaign thanks to the participation of the citizens and the great reception by the establishments, so we want to reissue said success and improve the initiative with a better organization and more funds”, highlighted the minister.

The second edition of the campaign, which will begin on March 1, will put on sale cards of 60 euros, of which the customer will only contribute half. Thus, each consumer may acquire up to a maximum of six cards, which means that they will have up to 360 euros to exchange in the stores attached to the campaign, of which 50% will be contributed by the Cabildo through the campaign.

The novelties for this second edition are the increase in the budget, specifically, the Cabildo will dedicate 230,000 euros to the sale of discount cards instead of the 120,000 that were made available last year. 7,666 cards will be put on sale, compared to the 5,000 of the previous edition. The maximum number of cards per customer also increases, which becomes six per person, and the list of establishments that may join is expanded, incorporating cafeterias, among others.

Businesses can join the program from January 31 and consumers can buy and use the cards from March 1 to May 31.

The cards can be used in several establishments and will function as wallets, which customers can save on their mobile devices.
