Cement sales last April amounted to 5,647 tons, which represents an increase of 29.8% compared to the same month last year and 22.9% compared to March of this year.
Thus, April is the first month of the year in which five thousand tons have been exceeded, according to the Lanzarote Data Center based on ISTAC statistics. In March and April there were about 4,300 each month, while in January there had been just over 3,800.
Cement sales give an idea of the situation of the construction sector on the island and seem to indicate that its activity is increasing on the island.
In the Canary Islands as a whole, cement sales have also increased, but at a slower rate than on the island of Lanzarote.
In April, 52,583 tons were purchased throughout the archipelago, 13% more than in April 2023 and 11.5% more than in March of this year.
