The Líneas Romero Foundation has redoubled its efforts to support families and patients facing cancer, becoming one of the sponsors of the Casa Pipa project during this year 2024.
Casa Pipa, a crucial initiative that offers temporary residence to families from non-capital islands whose children are receiving oncohematological treatment in Gran Canaria, seeks to alleviate the negative impact of the transfer and facilitate adaptation during long periods of hospital admission.
Support for Casa Pipa and the Pequeño Valiente Foundation
Casa Pipa, a project developed by the Pequeño Valiente Foundation, provides a home away from home for families who must move to the Hospital Materno Infantil in Gran Canaria for specialized medical treatments. This support is essential to reduce the stress and logistical and emotional difficulties faced by these families. "We want to ensure that families can focus on what is most important: the recovery of their loved ones," said Federico Romero, president of the Líneas Romero Foundation.

In addition to this significant support, the Foundation continues to promote, in parallel, its "Avante" project, designed to offer social and healthy leisure activities to people diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families and caregivers. Through these activities, it seeks to maintain an active and hopeful lifestyle, providing a support network and a respite from the difficulties of everyday life. The recent meeting at the Tegoyo Picnic Area, last April, where participants enjoyed nature and each other's company, exemplifies the positive impact of this initiative.
Sun Campaign in La Graciosa
The Líneas Romero Foundation, in collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), has carried out the Sun Campaign on the island of La Graciosa. This prevention campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the possible conditions that exposure to the sun can cause to health, highlighting the importance of sun protection to prevent dermatological diseases and skin cancer.
"The Sun Campaign is a natural extension of our mission to promote health and well-being in our society. We want people to enjoy the sun safely, and this initiative in La Graciosa continues to add in the right direction," commented Federico Romero.
Commitment and future
All these actions are framed within the "Sport and healthy leisure" line of the Líneas Romero Foundation, reflecting a strong declaration of intent: to continue its work to improve and give a break to those families who are in difficult situations facing an illness. With the support of projects such as Casa Pipa and Avante, and the implementation of preventive campaigns such as the sun campaign, the Foundation reaffirms its commitment to people and the Canary Islands.
Federico Romero concluded: "Our commitment to families facing the challenge of cancer is unwavering. With projects like Casa Pipa and Avante, we want to provide not only financial support, but also an environment that fosters hope and quality of life. The Sun Campaign is another example of our dedication to the health and well-being of our society."
