Twelve deaths with coronavirus in four days in the Canary Islands

Health has reported 1,393 new positives in people over 60 years of age since last Friday

Canarias has reported 12 deaths of patients with coronavirus in the last four days, six of them in Tenerife, three in Gran Canaria, two in La Palma and one in Fuerteventura. All the people, aged between 74 and 102, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

In addition, since the last data update last Friday, 1,393 new Covid positives have been registered in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the only population group that is currently being monitored.

The Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days is 1,541.45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days it is 651.91.

The Ministry of Health highlights that since July 8, a sustained decrease in the accumulated incidence at 7 days has been observed, when 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were reached.

Currently, in the Archipelago there are 515 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 29 are in the ICU and the rest, 486, on the ward.
